William Shakespeare - The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet

Who does not know the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet? In the play there are two enemy families, the Montagues and the Capulets, and a pair of lovers, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. Juliet is young, inexperienced and ready to marry Paris only because her parents tell her to do so. She would never dare to oppose their will. Soon, however, she grows up and falls in love with a stranger. Love gives her strength and makes her courageous in a difficult moment in her life when she has to make a decision whether to drink a potion or not. From a happy girl in love she turns into a tragic and mature woman. Once she has given her heart to Romeo, she becomes faithful to him till her death.
Yet it is not only Juliet who changes. So does Romeo. In the balcony scene in ACT II Romeo is a chivalrous man, obedient to Juliet. However, it is only in Mantua that he becomes mature. The moment he hears about the death of his beloved Juliet he does not hesitate to take a poison.
What makes the tragedy so terrible is that the lovers miss each other by a tiny fraction of a second. The moment Romeo dies Juliet wakes up, which makes the scene unbearably painful.
